Spring 2014 Sale

Our spring Used Clothing & Equipment Sale will be held Saturday, April 26th. Member shopping will be from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and public shopping will be from 9 a.m. to Noon. Public entry fee is $2 per person. No entry fee after 11 a.m.

As in year’s past, we’re expecting to have the Century College gym loaded with great condition kids clothing, toys, books, gear and more. This is a great chance to find swimming suits, summer clothes, outdoor toys (including bikes). And if you’re expecting, there are usually items like pack-n-plays, strollers, high chairs, exersaucers and other large items, at great prices. We accept cash, checks (with valid drivers license) or credit/debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express). You will be charged a 3% fee for credit/debit transactions. We recommend that you bring a laundry basket or some sort of bin to carry your items while shopping.

Although children and strollers are allowed, we recommend for your child’s safety that you not bring them, if possible.

Member shopping is open to St. Paul Mothers of Multiples club members who are in good standing (having made sure they were up-to-date on their dues no later than 24 hours prior to sale setup). No children or guests are allowed during member shopping, except pregnant members are allowed to bring an escort to help with their items. Mothers of twins, triplets or other multiples (or expecting multiples) can join the club the morning of the sale in order to participate in member shopping time.

The sale will be held in the gym on the west campus of Century College in White Bear Lake. Download a PDF with directions. Or use the map below to get directions from your location.

MOMs New Fundraiser: Metro Dining Club

St. Paul MOMS is excited to announce that we have joined efforts with the Metro Dining Club. All members of our club will be selling cards for two metro areas: St. Paul/Western WI and North/Northeast. These cards will also be for sale at our upcoming Fall Sale on Saturday, October 5th and anyone who purchases a box from us will have their admission fee waived.

The cards are a great opportunity for anyone to receive 2 for 1 dining at a few hundred restaurants. Each restaurant offers a prestigious card for their own restaurant. You and a guest order from the regular menu and enjoy one meal “on the house” every month at each restaurant for an entire year.

These cards retail at $28 but St. Paul MOMs is offering them for just $22/year.

Click on the link for the list of participating restaurants. MOMs Metro Dining Club

The menu guides are available online at http://metrodiningclub.com/programsmenu-guides/. Click either North/Northeast or St. Paul/Western Wisconsin to view participating restaurants.

We thank you for your support!

Happy New Year 2013

Happy New Year!

If you’ve got twins or triplets or other multiples coming in 2013, it’s a great time to join St. Paul MOMs club.

We’ve got meetings coming up on January 10th, February 7th (a week earlier than usual) and March 14th.
At our January meeting, we will have a guest speaker giving us some advice on how to teach gratitude to our children.

Our spring Used Clothing & Equipment Sale will be Saturday, March 9th at Century College in White Bear Lake. Stay tuned for more information on that (we are voting on a plan to start shopping times earlier in the morning).

Fall 2012 events

We have several things coming up in the next few months!

The big one is the winter family party on Saturday, Dec. 8th at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church in St. Paul (the same place we have our meetings). Members can bring kids and spouse to enjoy lots of fun activities and food. Watch BigTent for more details.

We will be having MOMs Night Out — informal social outings — at the end of each month. Members can find more information, including dates and locations, on BigTent.

Our next Used Clothing & Equipment Sale will be Saturday, March 9th at Century College.

And here’s the meeting schedule for the remaining part of the season:
–November 8th– After the business meeting, the program will be on bulk cooking and will include a recipe exchange.

–December 13th – MOMs Holiday Party at The Flame in Roseville

–Jan. 10 — We will have a guest speaker on teaching twins and other school-age issues

–Feb. 7 — We will have a guest speaker on issues surrounding children and social media

–March 14 — Guest speaker on college savings accounts

–April 11 — Our program will be our always-popular panel featuring adult multiples, telling us what it’s like being a twin or triplet.

Thinking about joining St. Paul MOMs.....?

Are you a new – or soon-to-be — mom of twins, triplets or higher-order multiples? You’re probably wondering whether it would be worth your time and a little money to join this club, right?

There are lots of reasons and it seems to vary from person to person. But we’ll hit the top three:

1) You either already have or are going to have lots of questions about being a mother of multiples that your friends who only have singleton babies will not completely understand or be able to answer. Things like, how is it possible to tandem nurse two babies without any helpers around? How do I go places with just-barely walking toddlers going in opposite directions? Do I put my multiples in the same kindergarten, or split them up? What do I do when one twin gets invited to a party and the other one doesn’t? How do I make sure my multiples develop individual identities and not always be considered, “the twins” or “the triplets”?

These are all questions that members of this club have wrestled with and figured out in various ways! You can get tons of great advice from fellow members, either through our online forum or at one of our meetings or events.

2) As a club member, you’ll get first crack at all the great kids’ stuff the other club members sell at our spring and fall sales. You can find pretty much everything from clothes and books all the way up to cribs, strollers and outdoor toys. And later, when your kids start outgrowing stuff, you’ll be able to easily sell your items, too.

3) Joining a local club — versus just following a national online forum — gives you chances to get local advice and make friends with women going through the same experiences as you. On our forums we frequently have questions about local schools, pediatricians and fun things to do with your kids. We have families living in various parts of the metro, including St. Paul, Minneapolis, Washington County, Anoka County, Dakota County and throughout Ramsey County. Several times a year we have family events where you can meet other families. And every month there’s a MOMs Night Out — a chance for you to get away for a little fun time. We also have special events at some of our meetings, such as speakers on parenting or marriage issues or adult twins or triplets telling us what it’s like to grow up as a multiple.

September is a great time to join St. Paul MOMs because we have our fist meeting of the “season” (our meetings are only held September through May) and we also have our fall sale. This year’s sale is Saturday, Sept 8th. Our first meeting is Thursday, Sept 13th. Click the “Join Us” tab on the left to find out how to join. Hope to see you soon!

Meeting schedule 2012-13

The meeting schedule for September 2012 to May 2013 has been set. Meetings will still be held at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church in St. Paul, with small group sessions starting at 6:30 p.m. Main business meeting and program start at 7:30 p.m. Members are welcome to come for any or all of the evening, whatever works for your schedule.

Here are the dates (all Thursdays):
September 13th
October 4th (please note a week earlier than normal)
November 8th
December 13th – MOMs Holiday Party at a location to be determined (No meeting)
January 10th
February 7th (one week earlier than normal to allow you to enjoy Valentine’s Day)
March 14th
April 11th
May 9th – Installation Ceremony. Location is still St. Tim’s. (No meeting)

Also mark your calendar for Saturday, Dec 8th for the MOMs Family Holiday party.

We don’t have meetings during the summer months, but we hold monthly MOMs Night Out gatherings at local restaurants. Here are the upcoming dates and locations:

Thursday, July 12th at 7 p.m.: Teresa’s Mexican Restaurant in Mendota Heights.
Wednesday, Aug. 15th at 7 p.m.: Rudy’s Red Eye in White Bear Lake.

New members are welcome to join at any time and you don’t need to wait until September to attend activities! These informal events in the summer, including playdates, are a great way to ease into the group and meet other members.

If you have any questions, feel free to email us at stpaulmoms@yahoo.com
